Ted is an awesome guy 1st and foremost. Easy to talk to. Due to an unfortunate Divorce in my life and years of playing catch up with my bills. I felt I had no choice but to claim bankruptcy. Theodore Sliwinski provided me with excellent counsel/advice regarding a Cohabitation Agreement. I was concerned about my assets when my girlfriend was planning to move into my house for an indefinite period of time. Theodore Sliwinski was very attentive in listening to my concerns. He drafted a Cohabitation Agreement which listed both mine and my girlfriend's assets, and our plans to keep financial matters separate. The Agreement also defined other terms and conditions regarding the living quarters, visitor's limits and clear expectations of each party. Like Ted said, there's nothing simple about simple assault. The prosecutor in charge of my case was difficult to negotiate with and did not want to agree to our plea which was dismissing the charge altogether. I would start by saying I would recommend Mr. Sliwinski in a heartbeat! I first met Mr. Sliwinski through a recommendation for him to handle my bankruptcy. When he found out I had just finished mediation for my divorce, he asked if he could review the draft of my settlement agreement. I said of course and let me tell you, it was the best thing I ever did. Mr. Sliwinski is now handling both of my cases. After seeing the draft of my settlement, he said there is no way ANY attorney should allow me to settle for what I was planning to (no alimony, for one thing). He got me threw the whole court process with a problem. I was at court for 15 mins. Plus another 20 mins to pay the fee. Was at work in hour.

If you want someone to blow smoke and give you false hope to keep your spirits up, then look elsewhere. If however, you want somebody to tell you how it is, give you the options available and execute them for you, then you cannot go wrong with Mr. Sliwinski. His knowledge of the law and the intricacies of dealing with the legal system in NJ is surpassed only by his execution of it. He has successfully handled a number of motor vehicle cases for me and has left me more than satisfied each and every time. His prices are reasonable and there are no sneaky "gotchas" to worry about or cause you any more stress than is necessary.

Ted is totally unprofessional and overall not worth the money. Ted took my case in a family court and did not tell me that my wife and members of her family were prior clients of his. Took her side and locked me into a confusing court order that he did not fully understand. He is cheap for a reason save the money and save it for someone better.

Very dissatisfied with the Ted Sliwinski. Hired him to assist me in negotiations, and explained the situation to him. He said he would be able to assist me. I paid him upfront. He called me and told me "good news, they offered....". Like he had done something miraculous. It was exactly the same offer I had told him about when I hired him, and wanted him to negotiate for me. I explained that to him, and he told me that anything else would be costly and we would have to go to trial. Why did he take my money then?? I explained this to him BEFORE I paid him. He hasn't called me back since. No closing letter. Nothing.

I hired him Theodore Sliwinski to handle my Bankrupcy and made it very clear I wanted to wave my car that I financed and wanted to continue with the payments on it. The day I went to court for the Bankrucy he gave me the paper work to wave the car and never processed the paperwork after I filled them out and dropped them off at his office. I didn't find out about it until 6 months had passed and he said listen lady this case is closed and if you want to reopen it your going to have to pay me $400.00 he also disrespected me for filing Bankrupcy and if it wasn't for the fact that my sister was with me when I filled out the paperwork and dropped it off with me he would have made me pay him $400.00.

I was being sued and Mr.Sliwinski asked for the smallest retainer from several attorneys I consulted with. That should have been my first clue. He also missed deadlines and is certainly NOT the type of attorney who will fight for you. At times, it felt that he was on the plaintiff's side! He asked for and was granted leave of counsel. This meant he would no longer be my attorney and he did this one month before trial. In the end, I wound up taking three attorneys on by myself and the case was dismissed. Mr. Sliwinski is not a bad person. Please know that. If your case is simple AND you stay on top of him so he doesn't miss deadlines, (as he did with me), he will do. But if you're fighting for your life, please do yourself a favor: borrow the money needed and get yourself an attorney who is a bulldog in the pen. What was most disappointing about my experience with Mr.Sliwinski was that he wanted me to sign a settlement agreement that basically said I lied. That would be a lie and I couldn't live with myself if I signed that statement. It went against my interests. So Mr.Sliwinski dropped me and I took on opposing counsel by myself, on the phone. Since I had studied so much of my case, I was able to hold my own against the plaintiffs attorneys and the case was dismissed without me ever having to sign that lie. Please know that Mr. Sliwinski is a nice guy... He's just not the gladiator you need when everything is on the line. Good luck.

my experience with Ted was nothing but awful, he did nothing but make my case worse, and I would never ever recommend him for someone to use as a lawyer. He is not professional, and is rude and never consults you about what he is about to do, he's an awful lawyer.

Never read my paperwork stated He was tired or swimming, my paperwork was out of time he had no knowledge when we went in front of Judge, on more than one occasion had to ask the courts the next step. Maybe he was new to Family Court/Criminal stated in email after I questioned him about not defending me he said "Had to give them something" , never told me about grand jury, accused me of making negative comments about him on internet, I emailed him in court form my answers, he never read or used. During oral arguements he never opened his mouth all he stated was about how the other party loved the child, ??? He was not the other persons lawyer he was mine. Don't need this lawyer for PTI, not kid napping no amber alert other party knew where we where called police and still got warrant and had to do PTI due to this lawyer not doing his paperwork on time, instead being buddies with the other party, T Sliwinski had from Sep to do paperwork and send in.... instead got after three Judges in Dec got indited ..

I contracted for a simple job settling a debt. But this lawer took 6 weeks to just mail a settlement offer out and then made a totally bogus offer to boot. I never got the settlement and then had go hire another lawyer who recommended and filed a successful bankruptcy.
